Chilliwack River - Lower Chilliwack (The Classic)

British Columbia-CA

Description

This run on the Chilliwack in BC is used often by Kayakers, Rafters and Fishermen.  It's a fairly friendly class III read and run float.  At higher water though the difficulty increases as the river loses some of the friendly eddies.  Your standard river hazards apply here.  Depending on water levels you should check for wood, sweepers or other hazards.  If in doubt make sure to scout anything you're unsure of.

The put-in and take-out described here definitely makes for a longer day but there are other put in and take out options if you want to shorten the run or skip certain sections.  Remember that when accessing the river, be respectful of land owners and never trespass.
