We ran the river with the youth. They were in rafts and we were in kayaks. The water was extremely murky with a great deal of run off. There was a lot of water boiling up from below which tend to push your boat off course. The rapids were great and we did not have any problems. We stopped for lunch at the red River Lodge which offers a an excellent $10 lunch. Getting out of the kayaks on the dock is a little bit of an effort. It would be great if they had some type of kayak ramp attached to the dock. There is not a good way to get out of the kayaks on the beach as it is steep and eroded, well, basically no beach, just a dirt wall about 20 feet high, so the dock is the only option out. The food is really good, veggie burgers are home made and excellent 4200cfs |

This was the biggest water flow we have ever done on the Colorado. The water was boiling all through and around the rapids. Very pushy. The flows had increased because of substantial rainstorms upstream. Lots of fun. Lots of sediment in the water |
