Nice day - three Alpacka packrafts. One of us swam once early on, rest of trip was smooth. This was our first run through Brown's & we scouted Canyon Doors & Zoom Flume. Rest were read & run from boat. Pretty impressive to watch the large commercial rafts work through the narrow & convoluted passages at this water level. Canyon Doors has a tree branch that looks like an elk rack sticking up just below water level that we thought could damage a packraft. However, at least two of us passed over it without incident. We couldn't see it until we were on top of it. |

First commercial kayaking trip of the season. I ran it with two other rafts filled with customers, guides were Paul and Adam. I ran my kayak ahead of the rafts and stopped below Canyon Doors, Zoom Flume, 7 Steps, and Raft Ripper to take photos of the rafts coming down. Essentially no obstacles present in the river except for a nasty rock in Screen Door, otherwise very slow and playful water. Plenty of eddies to catch and places to rest along with fun rapids that aren't too challenging. |
