Name | Canon City town run |
Class | II- to III+ |
Description |
Easy run with a little bit of beginner white water. Crux of the run for beginners are the two play park holes near Centennial Park. Both can be walked around.
The two play park holes can be taken with speed head on are are easy to paddle through if you keep your paddle moving. The only other white water of note is below 9th st. bridge where there is a 40 yard incline and after that a river wide water pipe that is under water that creates a river wide play wave. Put in is at Centenniel Park off of 2nd St. and Hwy 50. Take out can be at Ash St. near the river trail for a nice float. If you are a first time boater it is a great run to sharpen you combat roll. Of course at high flows this run can be hard for beginners as with all high flow runs. |
