At high water or water that is flowing faster than you feel comfortable navigating you should strive to scout as much of this run as possible. The paddling isn't difficult but the possibilty of logjams is high. Expect a typical mountain stream with class I to II paddling.

End of East Fork Road
|
Either put in at the campground at the end of the road or put in a couple hundred yards downstream where the road crosses the river and continues as a 4wd track. Get there by heading out of Mountain View, WY to the west. Get to Meeks Cabin Dam and then continue on the North Slopes road to where it splits. Take the east fork (hence the name of the river) and follow it to the end.

Get there by heading out of Mountain View, WY to the west and then south. Get to Meeks Cabin Dam and then continue south. About 3/4 of a mile before the road forks a side road leaves heading to the east. Turn onto this road and you will immediately cross the main black fork. Park here.
