Saint Vrain River - Black Bear Hole & A-Hole

Colorado-US

Description

Black Bear Hole & A-Hole are on the Saint Vrain River in the town of Lyons. The river runs through a small park on the west side of Hwy 36 just south main street. This park is right across 36 from the Black Bear Inn. This is just below the confluence of the North and South forks of the Vrain.

Two of the best play features Black Bear Hole & A-Hole are very close to each other seperated by a foot bridge over the river. Black Bear hole offers more of a wave/hole for surfing and spinning at normal flows and is great for beginners. The A-Hole is more of a pour-over hole that offers most any hole trick in the book when it is going. This is a great park and play spot and can be combined with Meadows Park or upper runs to O-Hole for a fun playboat run.
