This describes the most commonly run section of the Rio Oyacachi that starts at the bridge at the end of the road driving up the canyon from El Chaco. An alternative at the lower bridge can be used when the flows are high or for boaters looking to skip the most challenge section of whitewater. At high flows this run turns into solid class V with big holes and continous whitewater, but at most flows it's class IV-IV+ with some fantastic drops. The general character of the rapids start with a boulder garden entrance and terminate in a boof over a hole at the bottom with pools in between the rapids. It's an Ecuadorian classic not to be missed.
