Snapdragon is now making a randed skirt. Not sure if it's "official" but if you email them, they'll make you one. I've had good luck with mine. Just a note that if you really want to stay dry, try to have separate skirts for each boat. The cockpit sizes are enough different between my playboat and my creekboat that I'm now using dedicated skirts for both boats.

The one argument against a randed skirt is if you were in a really bad position, you couldn't "kick" out of it. Frankly, I've never even tried to kick out of any skirt, so if I was in that sort of a jam I guess I'd just be screwed.

I've blown skirts on pretty much every feature on the Wenatchee, so it's definitely nice to have a tight one for playboating.

Whitewater Forum : OCT 17 Shinn - DiggO - Mish ( Skykomish Race ) Author: Nick
Subject: OCT 17 Shinn - DiggO - Mish ( Skykomish Race )

A few from College Whitewater Open asked if we could help w/ safety. Figured we might as well race separately and set safety for anyone who wants to chill after our elimination round.

11:00: at Cable Drop parking lot to meet and paddle to the confluence.

12:00: Mass start above the first rapid after the confluence to end after Andersons Hole on river left . We'll all float side by side till its agreed a good time to let out a whistle and go. I'll set an obvious prize on the left bank above Boulder which will require you to get out of your boat. First one to hold the prize in both hands is the victor.

1:00: Elimination Round down Boulder Drop. We'll all be kicking it after the mass start so find your competitor and get ready. Choose someone to race against, float side by side above boulder and agree on a time to go. The first one to touch a marker on river left after boulder hikes back up to choose another paddler. If you lost... no worries and enjoy the show. If anything seemed sketch and you want a do-over... that's up to you and the other.

The only time that matters is meeting at Cable by 11 and then we're on paddlers time. If your late then just head to either the confluence or go to Boulder.
More than welcome to invite whoever as always, creekers or smaller for rag - dag prizes and open to suggestions. Keep me posted for any other ideas?
